Jake graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cox High School. He was a three sport varsity athlete and captain of the lacrosse team where he earned first team All Region honors. His humility and work ethic stood out among a list of highly competitive finalists. Jake will be attending the University of Virginia next year and plans to study biomedical engineering.
Ian is our second Bag Hefti scholar from Woodbridge High School. Ian was a standout multi-sport varsity athlete and Eagle Scout. Ian's community service and demonstrated leadership style reminded us very much of Bag. Ian will be attending Northern Virginia Community College where he plans to study construction management and welding..
Miranda graduated from the Legal Studies Academy at First Colonial High School. She was the goalie and defensive MVP for the FC field hockey team where she competed in the state finals. Miranda also displayed leadership off the field in NJROTC and through her work with Equikids. She will be attending Christopher Newport University where she plans to study Psychology and participate in Army ROTC.
Lilly Turner is a graduate of Kellam High School where she played on four varsity sports. She is an All State field hockey player as well as a member of the state championship soccer team. Lilly was a top scholar who was also involved with the National Honor Society. She will be attending James Madison University to play field hockey and will be studying intelligence analysis, with the hopes of a career in the FBI.
Dominic graduated summa cum laude and was named to the first-team All District Football Team. He volunteered and participated in many acts of community service through the National Honor Society and with J&J Farms. Dominic is enrolled at Howard University where he will be majoring in computer science and playing football.
Clara graduated cum laude from Woodbridge High School, where she captained the varsity volleyball team and earned All District honors. She spent high school summers in Cartagena, Colombia and Mozambique, Africa where she helped to build a library and classrooms. Clara will be attending Brigham Young University to pursue a degree in Exercise Physiology.
Our first Virginia Beach Bag Hefti Scholar, Tyler graduated at the top of his class and was an All State wrestler, placing 5th in Virginia in his weight class. Tyler's work ethic, outstanding achievement and humble nature made him stand out in an impressive field of finalists. Tyler is enrolled at the University of Virginia, where he plans to study pre-law.
Our first Bag Hefti Scholar from Woodbridge High School, Nathan was a 5 sport varsity athlete and Eagle Scout. Nathan's academic and athletic achievements were eclipsed only by his outstanding community service and demonstrated leadership. Nathan plans to major in Aerospace Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology.
